Bleach

There I was,  sticking tape down on a black page and pouring alternative material over it, when I discovered the mystery that is BLEACH! The bleach soaked straight through tape and rendered the production of lines useless. I'm not altogether sure of what my captivation is but that I love its affect on paper. I love the pretty old in turns the black paper. What I find most intriguing is that the process of applying bleach.. it doesn't apply colour which is the normal process of art but it removes it.

What would happen if you changed the concentration of the bleach and attempted to paint?

Drips

While I went to bed and left my Construction up in the shower of tape, I awoke with another idea.. What would happen if I dripped substances through it. Leaving a sheet of white paper underneath first I dripped Fairy washing up liquid...

I loved how it driped from layer to layer and eventually splattered onto the white sheet. Because of the texture of the fairy up liquid I was able to record it as it dripped. The only fault of the liquid was that the colour didn't show up too well in photo's

To rectify the problem of the lack of colour, I poured yellow acrylic paint which I mixed with water through it. The vivid yellow really stood out on the brown tape although the constituency was too watery and it was hard capturing images of it dripping. All the same I like the results.

This sheet it the sheet that was placed underneath the construction.

Then being the experimenter that I am I decided to drip some red paint through too, although this time I left the constituency thicker.

Tape shower:)

In the shower again, due to its mess control benefits, I decided to do a 3D like box containing layers of overlapping tape. I liked the result as it enabled me to look in between the negative spaces whereas I was normally inhibited while working 2D. I was also able to observe it from different angles.  Here are a few snapshots..

The light shines through the tape quite well I noticed while doing this. So below are a few pictures I took where I lit 3 candles and turned the lights off. I love them!! I love the colours and the shadows that are cast.

Below is the shadow that was created from the flames of the candle. I could of done with a stronger light as the shadows weren't very clear.
