Masking Alley

Using the same process as before with the masking tape, I attempted to make a piece which is more defined and contains an image. An alleyway is what a tried to draw.

I like the lines of this piece. It looks as though it is a kind of print. The lines give the alley perspctive as you look back further into the piece.

I added one final layer of red paint to the piece to see what the results would be like. It didnt turn out quite how I would of liked it as I had difficulty removing the tape because the paper was too thin. I plan on re-doing the piece on a pice of card. Although I will be keeping the scale. I like how the image is by no means an attempt at a replication and has its own character. Although ugly and crude it has a certain impact to sustains interest.

As an after thought, more for experimentation than anything else, I replaced the torn holes with newspaper clippings. I chose newspaper clipping because of the fact that alleyways are notorious for there appearances in the news. before you enter an alley words are running around in your head creating trepidation.
