Using the same idea as Rivane Neuenshwander, but with an urban feel, I decicede to cut the shape of a city into a cardboard tube. I then left it outside, exposed to weather and time. I checked the tube 3 times over 6 days. This was to experiment with the concept of time and weather on a metaphorical 'city'. The concept originates from the idea of observing a space and how it is manipulated by time and nature. This cardboard tube symbolises the decay of a city..
I found the textures presented by the experiment were interesting. Together nature and time left an ugly, crude 'drawing'. Its almost as though it rot away layers in the cardboard. The upper layer left peeling and curling off. Similar to Rivanes work I found the process interesting although it is impractical as it took 6 days to get a simple result..I think it'd be interesting to see how food would work? Or if I add a catalyst of decay to the cardboard?
